Managed the total sales and distribution business in the 4,800 square mile Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Directed the growth of sales and market share through 120 direct routes; five Regional Sales Managers; 22 District Sales Managers; an On Premise Manager for syrup sales with five route  and one District Sales Manager reporting to him; and a Business Development Manager with two Account Managers reporting to him. Budget and P&L responsibility for 9,000,000 bottle and can cases and 600,000 syrup gallons with gross revenue of $75,000,000 annually.

      • Increased market share from 39% to 43%.

      • Restructured routes to affect a total net savings of $2,000,000 over three years.

Regional Sales Manager (1975-1979)

Responsible for sales management for the Jersey City/South Kearny regions comprising a geographic area of 241 square miles and including the counties of Essex, Hudson, and Union in Northern New Jersey. The staff consisted of seven District Sales Managers responsible for 37 routes and a volume of 2,500,000 Bottle and Can cases. Also was responsible for a 50,000 square foot warehouse used as a distribution center for the Region and managed by one warehouse manager and a night-shift loading supervisor - both reporting to me. Had budget and P&L responsibility  for the region.

   "Turned around" a declining sales volume from less than 2,000,000 cases to 2,500,000 cases for a 25% increase.

   Directed the relocation of the total operation - including the warehouse - from Jersey City location to its present location in South Kearny.

   Assisted in the site choice and worked with engineering in the design of the South Kearny facility for maximizing operational needs.

Business Development Manager (1972-1975)

Responsible for Chain Store Headquarter calls for the Northern New Jersey/Metropolitan New York  Market. Scheduled  promotional  activity for feature  adds.  Interfaced  with  all chain  store  management  personnel for execution  of programs and  business  reviews. Ensured  optimum  execution  of all marketplace targets  by  working closely with operational managers and corporate staff.

   Grew chain store share from 28% to 35% of total volume.

   Increased chain store sales volume 21% in first year of program, and 11% and 13% in each of the following two years.
